How to Use the No Team Data Football Calculator
The No Team Data Football Calculator uses five Betfair betting prices to calculate probabilities and odds for different football markets. No historical team data or football statistics are required.
Step 1: Select a Football Match
Open Betfair and select a football match you want to analyse.
The calculator can be used for league matches, cup competitions, international matches and friendlies.
Step 2: Enter the Match Odds
Find the Match Odds market on Betfair and enter the decimal odds for:
- Home Win
- Draw
- Away Win
Make sure you enter the odds for the correct outcomes.
Step 3: Enter the 0-0 Odds
Next, find the relevant Correct Score markets on Betfair and enter:
- Half-Time 0-0: The odds of the score being 0-0 at half-time.
- Full-Time 0-0: The odds of the match finishing 0-0.
You should now have entered all five required prices.
Step 4: Examine the Calculated Odds
The calculator automatically uses your five prices to construct a Poisson-based mathematical model.
It then generates probabilities and decimal odds for several football betting markets, including:
- Match Odds: Home Win, Draw and Away Win.
- Correct Scores: Probabilities and odds for individual scorelines.
- Over/Under 2.5 Goals: The probability of three or more goals being scored.
- Both Teams to Score (BTTS): The probability of both teams scoring.
Step 5: Compare the Results with Betfair
Compare the calculator’s odds with the corresponding prices available on Betfair.
You may find that many of the calculated prices are remarkably close to the actual Betfair odds.
Where differences occur, they may be worth investigating. However, a difference between the calculator’s odds and Betfair’s prices does not necessarily indicate a profitable betting opportunity.
Using the Calculator In-Play
The calculator can also be used during a match, provided the score remains 0-0.
Simply update the Match Odds and relevant 0-0 prices using the current Betfair market prices.
For example, if a match reaches half-time at 0-0, you can update the prices and examine the calculator’s estimates for the remaining outcomes.
Important Points
- Enter all odds in decimal format (for example, 2.50).
- Use prices from the same match and the same point in time wherever possible.
- The calculator does not require team names, previous results or football statistics.
- The calculated odds are mathematical estimates, not guaranteed predictions or betting profits.
Try comparing the calculator’s results with Betfair prices from several different matches. This is the best way to appreciate how closely the betting markets can be approximated.
